I was pretty certain that this "Best Day Ever" was going to be a repeat of the 1st ever "Best Day Ever" 7 years ago. I would go go go all day and put myself in labor and have my baby. So we did our traditional girls shopping day. I even got a pedicure while shopping to induce labor. We came home to my parents and I did the treadmill and hung out. We had a great day but NO contractions. So still more waiting! Here was our great day in pictures!
Thanksgiving was wonderful. My parents had a thanksgiving feast at their house. I came empty handed and a little sad that I wasn't snuggling a newborn, but we had a wonderful time. We are so very thankful for all the blessings from our Father. We also celebrated Soren's birthday and the two older kids spent the night at Nana and Papa's with the cousins.
It snowed on Friday and we couldn't wait until Monday, Soren's real birthday, to give him his presents. We wanted him to be able to use them over the weekend. So Friday when Dustin got home from work we let him open them...
A snowboard!!! Soren was very thrilled.
The kids headed right outside with Dustin and snowboarded down our hill. They were out there for hours. Soren was really good at snowboarding and could make it all the way down the hill. They made a bon fire and stayed out till it got dark!
Sunday the kids sang in choir at church! They were so excited because you get to have a snack in between the two services and go up on stage!
After Church we headed to celebrate at the Williams. G'ma and G'pa were so kind to throw Soren a party. We had a wonderful time and I was even in labor! Contractions began around noon, we went to the Williams around 3 and they continued all afternoon. However, they were getting painful so I didn't know if it was the real thing. Just a ton of pressure in my back and whole stomach.
We left around 6:30 and called labor and delivery on our way home. They wanted me to come in and check it out. They said I knew what I was doing since this was my fourth! Ha! So we called my mom and she came to our house. And we headed in to have our baby, or so we thought!
Turns out I was contracting but it wasn't progressing. I was still at 4cm. They said I could stay or I could go home and labor at home. We decided to go home. It was so hard leaving but we thought we would be back shortly. And we got to be home to celebrate the birthday boy the next morning. My mom stayed over just in case we needed to head into the hospital in the middle of the night.
We woke up and the contraptions had stopped. So we jumped into birthday celebration!
Happy birthday Soren!
7:42 am when you officially turned 7
Soren, we are so proud of you. You are the nicest boy and such a great ninja! You are passionate and tender hearted. You bless your family in so many ways. Happy 7th birthday sweet boy!
We had Soren's birthday party two weeks early because throwing a party with a bunch of kids at 37 weeks pregnant instead of 39 weeks pregnant seemed a little easier! I am so thankful for the sweet group of boys (and girls) who were at the party. Soren felt very loved and blessed! He got mostly weapons and Ninja gear so the downstairs was a major warrior fighting zone!
Here are the boys, but there were about 10 more siblings playing downstairs. We had the kids eat in shifts: Boys, girls, little girls, and babies!
It was a wonderful party! We so enjoy celebrating our first born!
After the swing set fail, Dustin wanted to redeem himself by building a rock wall in our garage!!! The kids helped him with every step, or were at least present for everything! Here they are at the beginning...
The first section almost complete...
And it is finished. How cool is this? They spend hours out here and LOVE it. Even Maeta climbs and climbs and climbs! They turn on the space heaters and music and stay out there for hours.
