The swing set

We moved into our house and the kids were really excited about the swing set that was already there.  I was too.  I pictured hours of entertainment for them!  Well turns out, only Selah really enjoyed it.  It was a little to small for the older two.  But Selah loved it, so I did too.  She would swing and swing and swing!  Dustin did not like that swing set from the moment he saw the house.  So he told the kids, and me, that he was going to tear it down and build an awesome swing set.  I agreed as long as Selah had her swings!  He got to work tearing down the old one and building the new one.
He even brought the cement pourer and poured cement for it!

Here is the finished product (with lower swings) and it was really cool.

EXCEPT IT WASN'T VERY SAFE!  It wobbled so much that Dustin just didn't feel good about it and chopped it down two days later.  Selah has yelled at him over and over again about breaking her swing set.  We are proud of you honey for trying, but the kids would really like their swings back!!!!!!

Fall

I LOVE homeschooling in the Fall.  There is so many extra things we get to do because we homeschool.  The kids get to live outside!  We usually do a lot of school outside or take a lot of breaks to enjoy the sunshine.  This Fall was beautiful and long.  I don't remember a better Fall than this year.
One of the kids favorite activities during the day was building their own fires.  They had such a blast.  Here they are raking and gathering leaves to bring back into the woods.

It is very stressful being a homeschool mama!!!  Ha!  Here I am letting my bare tummy enjoy some sunshine.

Maeta is 5

My sweet Mae-bell you are 5.  A whole hand!  Sometimes I think of you as so much older because you often hangout with older kids and seem older, but other times I can't believe my baby girl is 5.  You are such a joy to our family.  You are best friends with Soren and love rock climbing, biking and hanging out doing hobbies with dad!  You love to cook and snuggle with mom.  And you like to teach Selah school and babies!  You are working hard at reading and are a whiz at math.  We are doing Kindergarten with you and you get pretty competitive about it!  You are in soccer right now but are begging to join gymnastics again.  You love to pray and often lead prayers before meals and in your Sunday School class.  I love your laugh.  You laugh hard and easily!  You are a joy as a daughter and I am delighted to be your mama.
You shared your birthday party with Lucy this year again.  This works wonderfully because you don't love a ton of attention on you.  Having the attention shared makes it more fun for you!  You girls had a Frozen party complete with a cake made by Nana and a Frozen dance on the porch with lights!

We also added Finn's birthday in too.  Here is his Tractor cake!

On your real birthday we celebrated with Birthday pancakes...
A doughnut date...
At 10:18am, the time you were born, we were driving so I threw the camera to Soren so we could get a picture of you at the exact moment you turned 5!  You were not impressed by this idea!
Then we met the Saari's at the apple orchard.

We even took a hay ride!
After church that night we opened presents with daddy!
Goodnight my sweet 5 year old.  We love celebrating you!

Lumber Jack Days

My parents invited us all over to have a lumber jack day at their house.  It was a beautiful Fall day.  The boys worked hard chopping wood with Papa...
The girls jumped on the tramp...
And Luke and Dad got Nana's soup cooking over the fire...

Beautiful day!
