Happy Birthday Dad and a little rambling

Yesterday it was my dad's birthday.  The kids woke up and started baking him a big cookie to bring over.  They also worked hard on birthday cards which were decked out with Ninja Turtles all over them!  Here they are with the Birthday Papa!
Here is Selah doing what she does the majority of her day.  Rocking, hugging, or deciding what baby she does or doesn't like at the moment.  She has about 7 babies but only likes to hold two.  So we hold up each baby and she shakes her head "yes" or "no!"  This is the routine for bedtime as well.  Lately she won't go to sleep because she changes her mind on which baby she wants.  I have to show her that there are no more babies in the room before she will stop asking.  However, she thinks I have them hidden behind the chair or in the toy box, which I may or may not do, and won't give up most of the time.  I think she might be taking after her big sister in the persistence department!
She also discovered how fun it is to eat with a fork!!!

What to do...

...When it just keeps snowing in April.  It is April 22, and snow is in the forecast for today.  Hmmmmmm.  That doesn't sit too well at the end of a long MN Winter when you have three small children going stir crazy.  So we have been trying to make the most of it.  Instead of enjoying the beautiful outside parks, we have been going to the Community Park inside.  The kids have loved it and really do so much better during the day when they get to run like crazy for a few hours.  They melt me together.  Soren is so kind to his little sister and makes sure she isn't lost or stuck anywhere in the big park.  Sometimes I even catch them running around hand in hand!
Little Selah enjoys standing here and watching everyone run by!
We make a vault in our living room and I teach them gymnastics!
Selah usually has 1-5 babies in her arms at ALL times.
A chalk beam on the carpet...
Asking Nana to lead a bake session, because Maeta LOVES to bake and this mama doesn't!
Maeta hanging out while Soren is at preschool.  Can you tell she has a big brother?
 Painting and coloring.
Look closely to see what they are playing:  Batman meets Spider man meets Thomas the Train, meets Cars meets Princesses!  They were all part of the story somehow!
This past weekend Dustin and I got away for a conference with Alicia and Nick.  We had such a great time and and were so blessed by my parents who took our kids.  It was my first time away from Selah for the night.  FIRST TIME IN OVER A YEAR!  My parents are so wonderful and my poor mom spent the ENTIRE night UP with a little one year old who wouldn't sleep.  Thank you mom and dad!  My kids keep saying, "We had sooooooooooo much fun.  Can we go back?"  Dustin and I keep saying the same thing, although it is very nice to be back with our mini loves.  Even though we had such a great time it feels so good to be mom and dad again!

A few from Easter...

It was such a special Easter Celebration for us this year.  Our kids are starting to realize what a gift it is that Jesus died on the Cross for sins, starting to see that they DO sin and NEED forgiveness, and that Jesus is ALIVE.  For me personally, the more I fall in Love with Jesus the more I see the vastness of my sin and need for a Savior.  It was so special as we prepared our hearts to remember the price Christ paid because He loves us so much.  Thank you Father for sending Your Son, and thank you Jesus for being the perfect Lamb.
We enjoyed celebrating Jesus being alive at our church by being blessed by our Pastor John Piper's last sermon before he retired from leading Bethlehem as Pastor of Preaching and Vision.  He has blessed Dustin and I in so many ways through His Wisdom.  We are so grateful.
After church we continued to celebrate with my family...
The girls wore dresses that Alicia and I wore when we were little...
Finn was also in a little outfit from when Luke was little...

Selah's Birthday day...

Our little lady had a very special first birthday.  As you know I like to take pictures of my kids at the actual time they were born on birthdays, Selah's is a little more difficult since she was born at 1:39 am.  However, I set my alarm to make sure to document the exact minute she turned one!  Here she is at 1:39 am 2012...
And here she is at 1:39 am 2013!!!  Love her little butt sticking up in the air!
We had a bright and early birthday party for her with our families.  We really missed the Saari family and G'ma Williams though due to being sick.  But the rest of us celebrated our little darling and all the babies there!
Selah didn't have cake because it was 8:30 in the morning and she already had her cake during her photo shoot!  So here she is having birthday breakfast...
Nana and Selah...
I can't believe Dustin and I have kids who are 1, 3, and 5.  When did that all happen?!!  Love it.
G'ma Debbie did send an ice cream cake in the morning so later at night we gave her a piece.  But she wouldn't eat it!  We tried and she didn't like how cold it was!  Ha.
It was a sun shining day so we enjoyed our birthday girl out at the  park.  She LOVES to swing!
We love you our little ONE year old!!!
