Christmas Recap

Christmas #1:  The Williams
This year Christmas was very special with the Williams because we had a 2 day old baby there.  Nikki had little Ava on the Dec. 20th and we celebrated with them on the 22nd.  Ava is so sweet and little and her hair is amazing...

I couldn't believe how Nikki and Drew seemed so calm for just having a baby!  Ava slept through all the commotion and I loved getting to hold her a bunch.  Here are the two brothers with the new little lady...
 Our family...
G'pa and G'ma Williams with the 5 grandkids...
 All of us...
Selah looked so grown up sitting with Ashton at dinner...
Soren couldn't wait to hold Ava, and loved every min. of it!
 Dustin with his little niece...
We had a wonderful time celebrating with the Williams!

Christmas #2:  The Opsahl's
On the 23rd my family went to church together and then we headed over to my parent's house.  We started the day off with some playing outside.  Sami, Soren, and Maeta...
You can't tell in this picture but it is of Luke and Dustin sledding standing up and then Luke would switch to a different sled half way down.  The practiced this for the longest time and thought they were so cool!
Maeta went sledding for the first time and had a lot of fun...
We went in and started the apps...
The whole gang...
Nana and Papa with the 7 kids...
Selah on her first Christmas in the same dress as Maeta on her first Christmas...
We did the kids presents before dinner because they couldn't wait!  Then got the kids to bed before we adults enjoyed a quiet dinner and present opening.  Selah couldn't sleep so she too joined in the fun.  Here are the kids in the morning...
 And the littles...
 Daddy and Say-Say...
Thanks mom and dad for letting the chaos come into your home and loving us so much.  It is so fun to stay over with everyone!!!

Christmas #3:  The Borgs
Sweet little Maeta before we left...
 Doing Karaoke...
My mom and Aunt Andrea were quite the entertainment...
G'ma and G'pa laughing at  their daughters...
G'ma Evie and Maeta...  I am so amazed that G'ma can entertain all these people in her home, do all the food and preparing, get gifts for all the kids, set up Bunco to play and still have time to sit with Maeta and read her favorite book to her.  My mom has the gift of entertaining too.  Amazed at the servant hearts of my G'ma Evie and mom!  It was also my Grandma's 80th birthday on Christmas!
Cousins loving on the next generation...
My G'ma gave Maeta and Selah my mom's old Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls (my mom sewed them when she was little).  Selah thought the dolls were so funny!
Thank you G'ma and G'pa for having us in your home.  We had a wonderful Christmas with you!

Christmas #4: Ours
Christmas morning we woke up and had Christmas with just the 5 of us.  We did our last day of Advent during breakfast...  This year we started the Jesse Tree for our Advent.  So there was a story and ornament for each day of Dec. taking us through the Bible and leading us to the Birth of Jesus.
We had a wonderful calm morning at home!

Christmas #5:  The Olmschenks
Christmas day afternoon we spent with the Olmschenks.  I think this picture of Selah is so funny!
The kids had fun playing with Amelia.  Here they are playing Hot Potato...
Chad and Dustin loving on the new babies...
All the next generation kids that were there...
Thank you Brad and Sue for opening your home up to us.  It was wonderful to get to spend time with everyone.

We are so blessed to have a Savior who humbled himself by coming as a baby to save us.  Thank you Jesus!

Maeta singing (This is for you Sue!)

Maeta and Soren both love to make up songs, so I thought I would share one.  Here is Maeta singing about Baby Jesus in the car entertaining Lucy and Selah while the others were sledding...

SNOW

On Sunday we got over 16 inches of snow!!!  So thankful that Dustin put new snow tires on my car the day before because I had to go to the city for a photo shoot and then we drove to my parents to play (we were going to just drop the kids off and go on a Christmas date but the weather was too bad).  The only time we got stuck was pulling into their driveway!  It was so beautiful when we were playing in it.  Maeta said, "this is my first time playing in the snow and I love it!"  Last year she didn't like it and the year before she was a baby!  Here the kids are with my dad...
My mom trying to roll down the hill but the snow was too deep...
 My lovey dovey parents...
So fun to play out in that much snow.  We have been out playing everyday since too!
Gingerbread cookies were made when we came it.
Maeta keeps saying, "Thank you Lord for this snow!"  I don't think daddy is saying the same thing!

We were celebrating Luke & Courtney's Wedding!!!  It was such a beautiful day and I never shared pictures here on my blog because I wanted Luke and Court to be the first ones to share them.  So here are a few of my favorites...
This was so funny, Luke could not make it up the icy hill.  He tried over and over and his shoes kept making him slide down.  I was laughing so hard while trying to get a picture of it!

Amazing that in 1 year 3 more babies were added to this...
This cracks me up too.  This was the best photo we could get of my parents and the grand kids!  Caleb, this picture of you makes me so happy!
And our family, I can't believe how little both Maeta and Soren are!
Courtney and Luke, you had a beautiful wedding and it was so fun to watch how excited you were to marry each other!

Selah's 8 Months (9 days late)

Oh my goodness little girl.  The above picture captures you so well.  Dimple, sweet little content smirk, and showing off your big girl skill which is pushing your tummy off the floor!  You think you are pretty tuff being able to do that!  Soren was crawling right at 7 months and Maeta was at 8 months, but you are just so content that you don't even bother to try!  I will put you in the crawl position and you just started to pick one hand up!  Your favorite thing to play is just sitting with a box of toys in the middle of the action and watching it go on all around you!  Nana tells me I was the same way!  You are such a content little girl!!!  And you absolutely melt your daddy and me, and Soren!  Maeta is pretty smitten with you too now that you are playing a little more and laughing at her!  You actually think it is really funny when she screams right in your face!
Comparing 2 months and 8 months...

You like to eat real people food now.  I feed you avocado cut up, cheese, yogurt, puffs, cheerios, beans, bananas, and soup.  Sometimes you will eat baby food in the new squeeze packs.  Still no bottle but you seem satisfied with me still so we will keep going!
You just started to scoot backwards and pushing up higher.  You say: Da Da, Ma ma, you wave and say Ba Ba.  One morning you waved and said Ba ba Da Da.  I couldn't believe it and don't know if you  were really saying bye bye Daddy or if it just coincidentally came out!  You love to clap and wave.  You are Ruthann are good friends and she has many tricks that you sit and watch and clap for her as she performs!  It is really cute!
Around 5 at night you get very attached to mom, I can't leave your sight, and you want to go to bed.  I try to keep you up until 6:30 most nights.  You started sleep a little better at nights but are still up about every 3-4 hours.  Your favorite time is bath time with the big kids.  When I start the water your little legs start kicking and you start squealing!
Selah, we are so thankful that God blessed us with you.  We love you so much and think you are so precious!  Happy 8 months baby girl!
