Our MN visit so far: Wed., Thurs., Fri...

We arrived in MN on Wed. morning. We left our house at 3:30 am and the kids didn't sleep one wink! They did pretty good but I had to show y'all how I roll through the airport. Behind me is a rolling carry-on and a back and a back pack, along with a 1 and 3 year old, a double stroller, and for part of the trip 2 car seats! Yes, we are a sight! But many people see me struggling and run to my aid. I am always so amazed at how helpful people are when I am struggling!

My dad and Lucy picked us up and brought us straight to my mom's work. We played with her for a bit before heading home to nap.

That evening everyone came over to play and eat. We love being reunited with family. Sweet Caleb had surgery on his arm that day and still made it to the celebration!

The kids love jumping on the tramp and check out Mae-Mae's hair!

Thursday we woke up and jumped back into our last Summer routine: Play at the Saari's!

The boys enjoyed trains, and Alicia and I enjoyed having each other's company...

That evening Nana and Papa took us out to ice cream...

And enjoying a park and the river...

On Friday my mom took the day off of work to play!!! We went and got her flowers because we usually do our flowers together! Here are our helpers!

Then we came back to their house and Saari's came over to play. It was a chilly day so we made a bon fire...

And roasted hot dogs and smores...

Luke with the boys...

Planting Nana's flowers...

We have had a great stay so far and I will keep blogging now!

Next up: the Mahn wedding!

Sunday

We had a wonderful weekend. I just can't believe how perfect the weather is almost everyday!!! I am trying to remember it is okay to be inside for a bit during the day when it is 75-80 degrees and sunny because it is that just about everyday for the last month, and Maeta does need a nap! Yesterday we went to church in Wilmington and then headed to Wrightsville for the day. We had a wonderful time!!!
After swimming and playing in the sand we stopped by Sue and Ward's for dinner. Our kids love to play there. They have so many toys and kitties!!! Here is Maeta all dressed up and having a tea party! Ha!

Caleb swimming

So I have been trying to upload this video on here for a couple of weeks and it finally worked!!! We and the Saari clan have laughed so hard at this video. It is of Caleb's first time swimming in the ocean. Alicia put his water wings on and sent him in. Caleb wasn't expecting so many big waves. He kept getting hit, going under water, and coming back up just to be hit right away again. Also, Alicia took this video but I was also taking video and got on tape how Alicia kept video taping instead of running in to get him, I think she froze! Caleb was so strong and kept getting himself up! He even laughed about it right after!!! However, he didn't go back in the water after this! Caleb you are so brave!

La Pixie Dust Botique

I have had many people ask me where I get Maeta's hair bows so I thought I would share my new favorite shop with y'all. My friend Krissa from church owns this darling botique and sells her items on etsy.com, just type in La Pixie Dust Botique and also on her website:
Go take a look, her items are precious!!!
There are also wedding hair pieces too!

Happy Mother's Day 2011

I am blessed far beyond what I deserve. The gift of life and the promise of eternal life is abundantly more than I could possibly dream of, but on top of that being blessed with 2 lives (plus one in Heaven in which I always include in my heart) in which I get to mother and encourage them to live for the Kingdom of Christ, is beyond words for me.
"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward." Psalm 127:3
The Lord has blessed me with children and allowing me to be content staying home mothering these children, and KNOWING that He will be merciful where I fail, which is a huge relief because I fail daily. I don't have to worry that I might "screw" them up because the Lord is Merciful and has a plan for their lives and His Grace is powerful to make right what I make wrong. I TRUST Him.
Dustin made sure I had a wonderful Mother's Day. I awoke to a very nice home-made card, coffee, and pancakes. And the kids got all dressed up in their nice outfits Nana got them. Soren thought Maeta looked so pretty that he said, "Mommy, could I dance with Maeta?" He is just such a prince! Then we headed to a church in Wilmington that is affiliated with some things that our church back home is, so we have been wanting to make it there. We drove for over an hour and a half searching for it and all we came up with was Carolina Beach and a park. So instead we praised God that He will never leave us and that He is still with us on this beautiful day and we headed to Wrightsville Beach for some sushi, sandwiches, and playing. It was a gorgeous 85 degree day. And here it is captured through pictures...
And to MY mom, I love you sooooooo much and missed being with you today. I love this picture of us...
because I feel like I get to know you at my age a little bit. I study this picture to see what you were like when you had two children my kids' ages (it is framed now in my dining room). When I think back to growing up I think of you as always being there. You were consistent and dependable to our family. You always seemed to be so calm. I don't know how, with 4 kids, but you were. You have such a gift of serving others that you graciously served our family and created such a joyful attitude in our home. I am so glad that you are my mom! I love you so much. I can't wait to see you soon!

Who needs spoons!

This was last year...
And she's back at it again this year...
Something about a large piece of watermelon draws my kids faces right in...
They did think it was fun to use the spoon to flick the watermelon though!
And a bonus picture just because she is sweet. Maeta stayed up with me for two extra hours tonight. Soren was sleeping and Dustin was working, and she jabbered the whole two hours. She loves to make up funny sounding words and say them and laugh really hard at herself! Then she sat on the couch naming everyone she knew and asking me to pray for them! She is just so sweet!

12:00 pm: Dustin had a divided work day today so he came home at 11:30 and told me to go do something fun for a couple hours. I jumped in the car and headed to Chick-fil-A before heading to the outdoor mall!

How do you eat your ICE CREAM?

Do you hold it like a baby doll as you strut down the street?
Do you like it in a cup or a cone?
Do you like to wear white while eating chocolate flavored ice cream?
Do you eat it in a group?
Or sneak it by yourself?
Do you eat it sitting or standing?
How bout on a hot day?
Do you get ice cream headaches?
Or just eat it nice and calmly without having a care in the world?
