Sami's here: Day 3

Today was chilly but not rainy so we headed to Myrtle Beach for the day. Soren has been wanting to mini golf since we moved here. So that was our first stop. He got to pick which one he wanted out of about 50 billion (ha) and he chose the Airplane one. Maeta sat and clapped when he got the ball in! What a little encourager.

After Mini golf we stopped at Chick-fil-A. I loved it! Then to the beach.
Here we are on Myrtle Beach!
After the beach we made a quick pit stop at Michaels to get a fabric cutting board and then stopped by this huge place I have driven by twice and noticed a lot of people at. We had NO idea what it actually was but went to see what all the comotion was all about. It ended up being pretty cool. I still don't really know what it was but it had shops, rides, resturants, weird cool buildings (see pic below), and a bunch of other things to do.
One really sick part was feeding the fish stations everywhere. There were these huge sucker fish type things that just sit and beg for food. You throw one little piece in and they all suck and fight for it. Soren kept saying, "Ahhhh gross!"
Sami has never had sushi and wanted to try it so that is what we did for dinner! She liked it!
Then it was foil Maria's hair time! Sam did a great job and it turned out!

Sami's here: Day 2

Rain, Rain go away come again when Sami's not here! But we still made fun during a rainy day. In the morning we drove to a super cute little town and walked around the shops...

The kids on a swing by the water...
Soren asked Sami if he should buy her a swing because she said that she loves swings like these! Ha!
Watching the storm move in...
Sam and the kids ran outside when it was downpouring to play in the puddles!
They were screaming so hard!!!

When Dustin got home from work Sam and I went and got pedicures! Then came home for dinner and then some before bed rough-housing!

Sami's here: Day 1

We have been looking forward to Samantha coming here for so long and the day finally came!!! Soren screamed and ran into her arms when she came down the stairs this morning (she got in late last night so he did see her then). Since then, he hasn't wanted to leave her side. If she goes somewhere else in the house he yells, "Sami where you going?" He follows her into every room and waits to do everything with Sami!
I was really bummed that this week's forecast was so cold but today was at least sunny! So we hit the ocean by 9:30. The kids loved showing her how they play in the sand.
I greatly enjoy her here too, maybe even more than Soren! Although that is pretty hard to beat.
We came home and played. Anytime we are at our house, Soren asks Sami if she wants to play trains in his room!
After Maeta's nap time and lunch we headed back to the beach. Sam and I went for a run, we looked for shells, and Dustin surfed. Maeta was crazy girl and has been talking, singing, or just making noises all day!
We ate wings and pizza down by the beach before heading home for the kids bedtime.
Both are sleeping and Sam and I are getting ready to go for a walk and then watch a good old chick-flick!

"At the Foot of the Cross"

"...trade these ashes in for beauty,
and wear forgiveness like a crown,
coming to kiss the feet of Mercy
I lay every burden down
at the Foot of the Cross..."
Lyrics from the song "At the Foot of the Cross (Ashes to Beauty)" By Kathryn Scott.

2:00 pm: Making homemade silhouettes (trying to figure out the hair!)

Todays project...

Began with coloring a circle (Soren really was happy about doing this, I don't know why he made this face!)...
Then practicing cutting...
More cutting, Soren did the best he has ever done with a scissors and was really excited about it!
Putting the puzzle back together...gluing...
And writing his name...
The final product!

The Woman Who Fears the Lord

Proverbs 31: 10-31

10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.

12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.

14 She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar. 15 She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.

16 She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. 17 She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.

18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.

20 She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.

26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
29 "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all."

30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
Maeta, I pray that you will not be like this world, but that you would be like the Proverbs 31 woman. I pray you will be courageous in the Lord.
