Halloween festivities...

The kids had a great time this year. We went over to Alicia and Nick's and got to Trick our Treat with the cousins and Nana! Soren was a Train Conductor again and Maeta was a lion!
We began with some carving pumpkins (Maeta just kept trying to eat it!)...
The kids got goodies from Nana when we got there (Maeta ate for about an hour straight)...
Our cute little lion holding tightly onto her bucket...
Soren was so amazed at Nana's bird on her shoulder...
All the kids group shot. Lilly was Cinderella, Lucy a puppy, and Caleb was "Astronaut Caleb"...
The kids got to ride in the trailer around the neighborhood. Soren has been so excited to do this. He could care less about the candy but couldn't wait for the tractor ride. The tractor was decorated as Caleb's space ship...
Getting mom some treats!...
Nick was dressed as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle...
Afterwards we went and got the Chipotle deal and it was so so good...

The in betweens...

The moments that don't always get mentioned but are just as sweet. Here is how we spend our in between moments...
We do crafts...
We get bored of the crafts and climb on the chairs instead...
We spend most of our day on the stairs with me close behind at all times...
We scale everything trying to learn to walk...
We play with our new kitchen and food set...
We dump everything out of the toy bins and then throwing the bins all around the room...
We feed our babies...
We drive the tractor...
The in between moments are great!

Maeta's Gymnastics and Soren's Halloween Party...

I think only a former gymnast would get so excited about their 12 month old doing this with pretty good form but maybe the rest of you will still enjoy it...
While Soren was at school Maeta and I went to gymnastics open gym with Lucy, Alicia, and Caleb. Lucy is so fun to watch in her little leotard!!! Maeta and Lucy both just seem to LOVE the sport already! Alicia and I already think Lucy will be the daring, power house that we never were and Maeta will study every skill and perfect it!
Soren had a Halloween party at school today. They got to wear their costumes. Now you must understand, I cringe at the thought of trying to get Soren to wear anything out of the normal, so we had to come up with something that he would actually wear.
Any guesses to what he is?...
A Thomas the Train Conductor! The only thing he has to wear is a hat! He has a little hat and a little whistle that he just loves!!! Here he is at school (notice the whistle is next to him on the table)...
Well I hope you all have a great Friday!

Our MEA weekend at Paradise Cabin...

Every October my family tries to make it up to my Aunt and Uncle's "Paradise Cabin." MEA comes at a time in the year when we want to all be together away from computers, work, school, and just the daily grind. I love going to the cabin. It is such a beautiful place to go and enjoy the ones we love! Carolyn and Paul bless us so much by opening their cabin up to us and giving us a place to let our children explore the woods, hunt, play, and just be together!

It was fun remembering back a year ago to when we were up there and Maeta was only two weeks old!!! This year she was trying to do everything the big kids were doing. That means a lot of trying to get to the open wooded stairs and into the lake from the dock. We had to be on her like a hawk!!! Both Soren and Maeta had such a great time being with their Nana, Papa, aunties, uncles and cousins.

Here is our trip through pictures (brace yourself, there is a lot!)

Alicia and I wanted to leave earlier than the rest of the gang, so we packed the mini van FULL with 4 car seats, 4 kids (ages: 1, 2, almost 3, and 4), 2 moms, and a lot of essentials and made the 4 hour car drive. The kids all did GREAT!!!...
A half way pit stop at a park...
Enjoying the cabin immediately upon arrival on the most beautiful Fall day...
Enjoying a peaceful day on the lake looking for Nemos...
Eating meals by the Bonfire...
Exploring with a best friend...
Lucy, Soren, and Caleb actually played in the lake...
Much loved attention...
Lots of time with Nana, Papa, Sami, and Luke...
Being independent...
Exploring on Daddy's shoulders...
Bear Hunts...
Cool Fall air= needing to be around a perfect bonfire...
Trying to safely monitor two 2 year olds down the open stairs
6 am, noon, 4 pm, 9 pm soaks in the hot tub...
Enjoying exploring the beautiful creation God has made...
Nighttime devotions...
Naps with Nana...
Pushing the lawnmowers around and around and around the yard...
10 am bonfires...
Pancakes every morning...
bunk beds...
Cooking and eating great food...
Story time with Amie...
Walks in the rain (Caleb even made mud angels!)...
We had such a great time! Thank you so much Paul and Carolyn for opening up your cabin to us and blessing us so much!

Soren: "Mommy is Maeta a princess?"
Me: "Yes she is"
Soren: "Mommy are you a princess?"
Me: "Yep"
Soren: "And I am a prince?"
Me: "Yes Soren you are a prince"
Soren: "And Daddy is a prince too?"
Me: "Yes. We are princesses and princes of the King. Who is our King?"
Soren: "GOD IS!!!!!!!!!"
Me: "That is right Soren, God is our King!"

While Soren is going to the bathroom...
Soren: "Mommy, only big boys go potty on the potty chair...and daddies...only big boys and daddies go on the big boy potty."
Me: "Well where do girls go?"
Soren: "Um, they just go bye-bye!"
*************************************
Soren cups my face in his hands and says...
"Here, lets have a kiss!"
And then kisses me right on the lips!

Maeta, We give God all authority over your life...

Today we dedicated Maeta to the Lord at our church. We know that we had already given her to the Lord but it was our chance today to publicly and with the support of our church behind us acknowledge that He has all authority over our sweet little girl. What a blessing to know that she is His and what a gift we have been given to be her parents for this small time here on earth. Dustin and I agree that we will do what we can for her salvation and that her salvation is our top priority in her life. We agreed to 5 areas today as we surrender "all worldly claims" in her life:
1.) Do you recognize Maeta as a gift of God and give heartfelt thanks for God's blessing?

2.) Do you now dedicate Maeta to the Lord who gave her to you, surrendering all worldly claims upon her life in the hope that she will belong wholly to Jesus Christ?

3.) Do you pledge as parents that, with God's fatherly help, you will bring up Maeta in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, making every reasonable effort, with patience and love, to build the word of God, the character of Christ and the joy of the Lord into Maeta's life?

4.) Do you promise to provide, through God's blessing, for the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of Maeta, looking to your own Heavenly Father for the wisdom, love and strength to serve her and not use her?

5.) Do you promise, God helping you, to make it your regular prayer that by God's grace Maeta will come to trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of their sins and for the fulfillment of all his promises to her, even eternal life; and in this faith follow Jesus as Lord and obey his teachings?

Maeta, Dad and I desire for you to know Christ above all other things. And through the grace of God we pray that we will encourage you in your walk with the Lord. Our biggest joy would be for you to someday trust in the Lord with all your heart. We pray for your salvation more than we desire good health and happiness for you (which we do pray for but not at the coast of your salvation). We pray that you would not follow your generation in striving for things of this world but that you would desire to bring God glory. We pray that you would, "beautifully reflect the glory of God and the aroma of Christ to the world (taken from Bethlehem Baptist Church)."
"Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants and our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace." Psalm 144:12

Our weekend so far...

We have had a wonderful Fall weekend so far. Friday night we enjoyed my high school group of friends and their men over for a bon fire. It was so fun to see everyone. There is a lot going on in that group with jobs, babies, and weddings! A lot to catch up on! We got to enjoy each other around a bon fire on a perfect chilly Fall night! Soren got to have a fun sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa. He had a great time playing trains with them!
Saturday morning we woke up and Alicia and I took the girls to the Farmer's market and shopping for a bit. Then we enjoyed the nice Fall weather outside playing. Maeta keeps practicing her standing! She gets so proud of herself...
The kids played in the sandbox...
The boys went exploring in the woods...
And Alicia led a gymnastics practice on the hill...
This is such a wonderful Fall we have been blessed with. I am so thankful!
