Happy Golden Birthday Dustin!

Yesterday was Dustin's Golden Birthday, and I had NO idea! Ha! I did know it was his birthday but didn't put it together that it was his Golden birthday until he told me at the end of the day! Now if you are like me a Golden birthday is a BIG deal. Mine was when I was 14 and my parents did it up good! It felt like I had to wait forever until I turned 14, that is how excited I was for it! Well Dustin didn't get jewelry, or golden decorations, he didn't even get golden silverware! But he did get a celebration!

Over the weekend my parents watched Soren and Maeta so Dustin and I could go up to Hinkley with his family to celebrate Nikki (my sister-in-law) and Dustin's birthdays. We had a great time hanging out, listening to Alan Jackson, and eating good!
Last night we celebrated with my family. My mom brought the party to our house. She brought all the food and Pumpkin bars!
She cooked away and blessed us all with wonderful food!
Thanks everyone for helping us celebrate the most handsome man in the world! Honey, I am sorry that I didn't catch your golden birthday, I guess I will have to make your silver birthday outstanding (when you are 82!)!!!!
I love you so much Dustin and I pray this year will be filled with blessings upon you!

Baby Edison...

(Joelle I think you spelled Edison like that but let me know if you will spell in with two "d"!)
Between 4-8 years ago many nights you would find me with my girl roommates doing something like this...
Or this...
Or this, just hanging out...
I was very blessed my freshman year of college with a wonderful roommate, Joelle...
I don't think I could have picked a better person to room with for my entire 4 years of college. We had such great times together in our little dorm, and wonderful times together with many more girls in our apartment and eventually a house (a disgusting house may I add). Here is a picture of two of my best friends with Dustin on Joelle's wedding day. The three of them always went out to eat before my gymnastics meets...
But last night, we were not doing facials or skits, or talking on the couch during our college years, we were celebrating this...
Joelle's sweet baby boy! We were still enjoying each other's company but topics were a bit different than in the old days!
It was so wonderful to get to celebrate this life that is about to enter this world. Baby Edison, we can not wait for your arrival! Joelle, I am so excited to see you as a mom. You will be wonderful!

Maeta...

Heart!

What is wrong with this picture...

Do you see anything a little bit off? Yes, there is an 11 month old sitting on the table. This is how I often find Maeta these days. She is a climber. She feels the need to climb into on onto everything as I mentioned in a previous post. She can do it all by herself. See...
She first climbs onto the chair (I don't know how it doesn't tip) then precedes to climb up to the table...
Until at last she finds the desired position and the desired markers I have just taken away from her...
She often yells at Soren for trying to get into the toy box with her...
She climbs into little boxes...
and when that isn't fun enough she tips the little box over to use it to stand on...
to reach a bigger and better box to sit on...
Oh Maeta, I love your adventurous spirit!

11 Months old (9 days late)...

Maeta, oh my, I am so smitten with you. You are our precious daughter and we have been so blessed by you. I love to sit back and watch you. I watch in awe because you are the sweetest thing I have ever seen (well Soren too) and you usually have a task you want to complete and you DO NOT stop until you have reached your goal. I love your determination and your spunk. You have such and active personality to go with your quiet spirit. However, sometimes you can be a bit feisty, but most of the time you are very content and quiet. You just started talking a lot. You repeat the 1st sound of the words we say. So far you say: Mama, Dada, Nana, Papa, Go, Numnum, ball (more like Ba), poop (more like poo).
Your new activities involve: climbing into EVERYTHING! Whatever is around, you climb into or onto it. You think climbing is so much fun and you get so proud of yourself when you accomplish a climb! You LOVE to eat. You will sit and eat ALL day long. You also LOVE daddy. If you hear anything that might be him getting home you say Dada and start crawling right for the door. You also became a huge snuggler with me. We are officially done nursing this month and now you snuggle like never before. I love this! You lay your head right on my shoulder with your little butt sticking out. LOVE IT!
Stats at 11 Months:
Weight: 17.2 lbs. (below the 5th %)
Sleeping: 1 nap (about 1 1/2 hours) Bed at 7:00 pm sleep until 6:00 am up for a quick bottle and back down until 8:00 am. I love that you sleep this long at night!!!
Eating: Officially done nursing. About 3-4 4oz bottles a day. You love real food: grapes, watermelon, mack-n-cheese, meatloaf, beans, cottage cheese, bananas, and cheese is your favorite.
We love you so much baby girl!

Busy Fall...

We have been going, going, going this Fall so far with a lot of fun activities. In the last 2 weeks we have hit, Como Zoo, The MN Zoo, The Children's Museum, The Library, Friend's houses, Started Preschool, I joined the decorations committee at my MOMS group, The Apple Orchard, and we just started AWANA too. Whew. It has been a lot of fun and the kids seem to really be enjoying our Fall activities. Here are some pictures of our highlights...
The Children's Museum: We went with our friends Tami, Aubrey and Axel. Here is Maeta with Axel. They are just learning to play together a little bit. Axel is only 6 months old and weighs 1 lb. more than 11 month old Maeta and is much taller, so I think they think they are the same age!
I love this picture. Soren is cooking me Watermelon (as he says), and Maeta is just shopping for supplies!
They had fun in this room. There is music playing and a camera so the kids can see themselves on the TV. Maeta kept dancing and Soren kept playing the guitar...
The MN Zoo: We had a great time on a perfect Fall Saturday. The kids got a little tired of riding in the stroller but really enjoyed the animals...
This shark came right up to Maeta and just stared at her. I think he thought she looked mighty tasty!!!
The apple orchard: We can walk there from our house and on the way Soren asked if I would take his picture in front of the water fountain! Ha, usually I have to force him to take pictures but he seemed to think that this was a great photo op!
Maeta feels so proud sitting like a big kid...
Here is the 1st night of AWANA: Soren getting ready to go...
Soren and his friend Mallory...
Soren looked so little compared to the other kids but he listened really well!

Wrapped in their aunties love...

Samantha makes all her nieces and nephews quilts when they are born. We LOVE the quilts that she makes. Soren uses his every night on his bed and we just got Maeta's and she already loves it!! Thank you Sami for spending so much time on these and for loving my kids!
(Excuse the terrible picture of the kids, but notice their nice quilts!)

1st Cousin Sleepover (that didn't take place at Nana and Papa's house)!!!

We are so blessed by our cousins! Soren and Maeta both adore Caleb and Lucy. I am so thankful that we have kids so close in age who are only 1.3 miles away from us!! Alicia and Nick went out the other night, so Lucy and Caleb got to come to our house for a slumber party! It was the 1st one for our kids and it was soooooo much fun. And by slumber party I mean "fell asleep at our house for a couple hours and Alicia and Nick picked them up around 11:30 pm! Ha! All night we had so much fun playing. The highlight was 1 boy riding the Lightening McQueen power wheels and the other boy riding the pink and purple hot wheels, while I pushed Lucy in the the red car. The boys would crash into each other and laugh so hard!!! They would then park the cars in the parking lot (aka: guest parking spots) and Soren would say, "lets just sit here and talk." Caleb would take over telling us all about Astronaut Caleb! It was the most precious thing ever watching these kids play and talk together! Bedtime was also a highlight. All three kids (Maeta was sleeping already) were snuggled up in bed listening to the story. They then went to their beds squealing with joy. They thought it was so fun to all sleep in the same room. We had Caleb in Soren's bed (the joy radiating from him is priceless)...
Soren in our bed...
and Lucy in the pack-n-play...
I turned the lights out and of course just heard giggling!!!!!
We are so thankful for you Lucy and Caleb!
