A Great Anniversary

On Wednesday (our real anniversary) we celebrated by getting the kids to bed early (we are talkin 6:15!!!) and enjoying a very nice dinner together. We had music playing, great food, and actual conversation! It was wonderful and I enjoyed every minute with my man.
However, right as we were finishing up, somebody decided she wanted to get up and play...
We did have a lot of fun with her though. She was in such a cute mood and it isn't often that we get to enjoy just her. So we soaked it up. Maeta just kept wanting to kiss Dustin. She is very smitten with him and he welcomed every drool-filled kiss. I caught the drool lasting between them here...
Then on Friday my wonderful parents took our kids for the night. Dustin and I enjoyed a great dinner and then we went to Valley Fair! We had so much fun on all the roller coasters. There were no lines and we got to go on so many rides in 2 hours! Thanks mom and dad for taking our kids. Maeta has been saying Nananananana today. I wonder what my mom (aka: Nana) was working on with her last night?!

4 Years

Beware: this post contains many pictures!!!
This year I am going to recap our wedding day through pictures and save all the mushy, lovey, dovey stuff to tell Dustin in person instead of sharing here on this blog! I feel so very blessed at the past 4 years and the wonderful marriage day that we had, but I also feel very blessed at what a fun, meaningful, happy day my wedding day was. I had an amazing friend, my mom, to share all the planning with, and a wonderful man I couldn't wait to become a wife to. All the planning was great and the actual day was amazing. But most of all I got to start a life with the man that has blessed me beyond my dreams for the last 4 years.

Here was our day!
My mom and I went for a quiet morning out to get our hair done.
We went back to the house and all got our make-up done and enjoyed a relaxing morning of drinking a lot of water (it was already about 90 degrees early in the morning!).
My mom, sisters, and cousin came into the room to help me get my dress, garter, jewelry, and shoes on.
Right after we all got dressed I came out of my bedroom to everyone else (friends and family) waiting outside. They had "isn't she lovely" playing when I came out to show them the dress for the first time!
Dustin came and waited in my parent's front yard to meet me for the first time. That was a very special moment.
My parents were so wonderful, calm, and excited for Dustin and I on our big day. We got married 25 years after them!
We took many pictures inside and outside. It was fun to get to be all cuddly with Dustin for a while, while the photographer kept snapping away!
Here are my bridesmaids and flower girl.
And more special friends that I wanted to be part of the day.
Dustin and his men.
We went to the gardens where we got married for more pictures. It was so beautiful there.
I was so nervous before walking down the aisle. My dad kept giving me cups of lemonade to drink so I didn't faint (remember it was 100 degrees out and humid). I loved walking down the aisle. It was so fun being with my dad, seeing my future husband, and having everyone we love right there. A very overwhelming feeling. We walked down to the song, "Prayers of the saints" because my dad has always called me his "Sweet smelling incense" and the chorus of the songs is "...all the prayers of the saints like sweet smelling incense..." a beautiful and powerful worship song. It was very meaningful for us.
I loved the ceremony. There was a time when both sets of parents came and laid hands on us and my dad prayed over us. I loved this. We also wrote our own vows together and said "with this ring I thee wed" while putting rings on. I really wanted to say that! Ha!
The trolley ride was great! A beautiful, warm evening to be sipping champagne and being newly married!
The reception was perfect. We had a bunch of different stations all over which had different styles of food. A Chinese station, Mexican station, American station, etc... Very delicious and entertaining!
We danced to "Tupelo Honey" by Van Morison.
I had so much fun at our dance. I barely ever left the dance floor. It was a great time celebrating.
Dustin, God has blessed us very much in these last 4 years. I feel honored to be your wife!

SLUMBER PARTY!

Friday night a dream came true: I got to have a slumber party with some of my dearest girlfriends. There are 6 of us who have been very close since 8th grade and we promised that even when we were moms we would still have old-fashioned slumber parties! And that we did! Andrea hosted the party and greeted us all in her PJ's (how cute is she!).
Here is a picture of Chelsea (flew home from TX where she currently lives with her husband) and Kristi all excited for the night...
So, I am sure most of you are wondering what 26 year olds do at a slumber party. Well, of course we: PRANK CALL! Yes, we spent about 2 hours laughing our heads off prank calling our parents! Here is Kristi in her prank call mode...
and the rest of us listening and laughing...
okay, so we might not be the coolest 26 year olds you know, but we sure have a good time all being together. Here we are celebrating the last girlie to turn 26, Andrea!
and 4 of my precious friends...
And finally, all 6 of us, lovin on each other!
I had such a great time with these girls and am so thankful that the Lord has blessed me with each and every one of them. Can't wait for the next Slumber Party!

Watermelon

One of our favorite times of the day is around 3:30 when naps are all done and it is time for our watermelon snack outside.

The Berry Patch

After about 3 weeks of trying to make it to the berry patch we finally made it today! By 10 it was already 85 degrees out and neither kid got too into picking so we only filled up one little carton the size you buy at the grocery store! Soren picked about 3 and Maeta ate about 20! However, I did get one of the sweetest pictures of the 2 of them (above) in their strawberry outfits. So I guess it was successfully documented!
