Two little buddies!

We got to watch Lucy this morning and had so much fun with her.  Soren just adores his "Oocy" as he calls her.  These two are just the best of buddies.

Soren loved to make Lucy laugh.  He would jump in the crib and she laughed so hard she fell over.  He also taught her how to stand and jump.  She felt so big doing this!

Then it was playroom time.  While Lucy played with the animals and her toes...

Soren practiced his coloring!

Lucy was having too much fun for a nap so we went outside and enjoyed the day.  Don't they look like a little granny and grandpa!!

Soren shared his snacks with Lucy.  She would yell at him to bring her some, then lay down and chew it!  I think we wore her out!!!

Thanks for playing with us today Lucy.  We love you.

BIG 20 Week Ultrasound

We are half way there!  Yesterday we had our big baby scan, and held off finding out what the gender is.  Dustin tried to look when the tech said she was checking that area so look away, but he promises he didn't see anything and couldn't even tell where the area was!

Praise God that everything they could tell from an ultrasound looked and measured perfectly.  I was really nervous for this one because I now know what they look for during the scans and many times the baby doesn't measure normal.  So this was a huge answer to prayer.  Well let me introduce you to Babieeeeee as Soren says...(look at how amazing the spine is, there is no doubt something as amazing as that is knit together by the BIG GUY)
And here is our 20 weeks belly picture.  Soren loves taking these, he immediately poses in front of the door.

Daddy's dream come true!

From the moment we found out that we were having a little boy (meaning Soren, no we do not know what this baby is) Dustin has been dreaming about taking him out to the river.  Dustin has this place that he named "Dustin's Riffle" where he has fly fished many many times.  It is a beautiful 1 mile walk and he couldn't wait till Soren was old enough to take him there.  Well dreams came true this weekend.  Soren loved the river.  Dustin carried him and showed him everything about the river and how to fish it.  It was so cute to witness.
Dustin wanted to get a workout in on the hike so he packed a backpack with tons of water and a kettle bell in it.  He also stopped for a mini workout along the way.  Soren also has a passion for Kettle bells and to our amazement lifted the 26 pounder, he only weighs 25 pounds!!

Here is daddy teaching Soren how to enjoy the river.  Soren naturally loved it!

The biggest highlight of the day was throwing rocks into the river.  Soren had so much fun doing this...

He feel into the 50 degree water!!  But all turned out to be fine once we got his clothes off.

After saying "Bye" to the river and weaving around a patch of dandelions, heaven forbid one to actually touch your leg, Soren feel asleep within minutes of getting into the car.  Now that is a good day!

A Twisters Reunion

My dear friend Jenny got married and was such a beautiful bride.  Jenny is a great friend from my club gymnastics days at Twisters.  Many teammates were there and I had such a great time catching up with them.  Mattie, Jess, Jenny and I have so many memories together.  It is amazing the bond you form with those who go through rough and tough times together.  Twisters was definitely rough and we had to be tough to make it through, but we also had some of the most fun and rewarding times.  I remember laughing so hard that my legs couldn't make it down the vault runway.  We often got to travel together which was so much fun.  Oh the memories!!  Thanks girls for bringing so many laughs into my life.  And congrats Jenny and Josh, you were a very fun couple to watch.  PS: Jenny, I would love to learn that Hannah Montana dance!!

A Wonderful Mother's Day

I am so grateful today to have such wonderful memories of my own mom which are still being made daily, and to be experiencing so much joy in being a mom.

My mom is the most wonderful lady in the world.  She is so passionate in everything that she does; it doesn't matter if the task is large or small she will give everything she has to it.  She loves to make you feel special every time you see her.  My sister and I often scold her for making "motherhood" look too easy and giving us an unrealistic impression of what it is really like.  She seemed so content and happy no matter what the situation was every single day.  Here are some of my top favorite memories or characteristics from my mom (just a few are here, I could have pages if I had the time):

* watching her put on her MaryKae make-up when I was probably about 3 or 4.  I couldn't believe how pretty my mom was (this thought remains to this day)
* Calm, she was ALWAYS calm
* one day I was getting ready to go to Kindergarten and she ran from the kitchen into the living room and flipped over the couch
* she kissed and loved my dad
* when we had a babysitter she planned out our whole night to make sure we would have fun with pizza, games, movies, etc...
* she played
* I loved cleaning with her when I was little
* she made us matching outfits, with matching bows, and matching shoes (Alicia found this
nauseating I adored it)
* her faith is real
* she works so hard
* she will give me a date day with her
* she would meet me after school for years with a warm dinner at 2:30, drive me to gymnastics practice an hour away, stay for 5 hours, and drive an hour home.  Not once did I every feel like it was something she didn't want to do.
* she LOVES my son and he loves her back
* she is fun

Like I said I could go on and on but this is a sliver of how I feel about my mom!!!!  Thanks mom for teaching me how rewarding motherhood is.  I love you!

Now I get to practice being the kind of mom I loved having.  Soren has been such a blessing in my life.  I love being his momieeeee.  He has the most tender heart and makes me feel cherished everyday.  Thank you Lord, for letting me be a mom.  I am so so thankful the Lord chose me to be a mom to all our three kids.  I have been a little emotional today remember our little one that we possibly could be holding in our arms today.  I would have been 37 weeks pregnant, the same time I delivered Soren.  My emotions are not sad or lonely today just emotional if that makes any sense.  I am so thankful to the Lord for being given the gift of being a mom to that baby who I won't even know until Heaven if it was a girl or boy.  I am so thankful for the work the Lord has done in my life because of that baby.  I am so thankful that I have a child standing in the presence of our King and will never taste the evil of this world.  What a gift!!  I am so thankful that I have a child I can hug today and one that I can feel moving around inside me.  The Lord has blessed me beyond measures.  Thank you Lord for being so good to me.  I love the gift of being a mom!
