A Fun Filled Weekend

Our full and fun weekend began with Samantha's Senior Prom.  I loved the prom and wanted to live vicariously through her.  So Soren and I, along with Alicia's clan headed over there.  Sam looked beautiful as always.

Soren and I then headed up to Hinkley to meet Dustin and his family.  They were golfing and then met us for the night at the hotel.  We had a great time.  Soren loved the pool.  He was much more of a freeze baby than I thought he would be.  He would jump in the pool then race to the hot tub.  He also loved running up and down the hallways!!

On Sunday we celebrated my dad's 50th birthday.  We roasted him then reminisced about all the things we have been blessed with "Because of him..."  My dad is such an amazing guy and I am so thankful to have grown up with such a fun, God-loving, motivated dad.

On a side note...  Today we had our 16 week appointment and heard that sweet heartbeat again.  I love hearing that.  Also, about a 1/2 hour after hearing the heartbeat I felt the first kick.  Dustin and Soren got to come with and hear the baby too!  Here is my latest belly picture from 15 weeks.

A Wonderful Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend.  Not only do I love Easter morning at church because the joy and thankfulness is so great as we praise a Savior who paid it ALL, but we also had a wonderful time with my family.  Lucy was the hit as she paraded around in a little jean skirt and a a lace bonnet.  She is getting so big and is starting to hold her own around the two boys who role on top of her.  We tried getting a picture but none turned out.   Here is the best one we got!
The boys also did an easter egg hunt.  We were laughing so hard because the hunt included their easter baskets that Nana had filled...

...but the eggs were filled with craisins instead of chocolate!!!  Caleb cannot have sugar so it is easier if the temptation isn't there!!  But Soren and Caleb LOVED the craisin filled eggs!  We topped the egg hunt off with a game of Kick ball.
Here is our family Easter morning.

16 Months!!!

I love this age.  Soren has so many opinions and passions already, it is so neat to see.  He tells me what he wants to eat (not through words but by going into the pantry and pointing while saying please and signing more), what he wants to do, and sometimes what is on his mind.  He often comes up to me, puts one arm around my neck, tilts his head, smiles, and says hi and kisses me on the cheek, as if he just wanted to come and tell me he likes me!  He also is getting very very good at slap shots.  He can hit the ball so hard it hurts if the ball hits you.  Soren loves when daddy comes home because that means they get to play hockey outside.  Soren loves being outdoors.  he would play for hours out there if we let him.  I watch the two of them from the window laughing at how Dustin always trys to teach Soren something and Soren soaks it all in!!  I am so thankful that Dustin loves being a dad, he is so good at it.  Thank You Lord for this blessing!
Today we decorated Easter eggs.  Soren loved them because they looked like balls.  He wanted to throw them and cryed hard when we wouldn't let him.    We are so thankful for this Easter week and what Christ went through on the cross for us.  I am so undeserving of that kind of love but so grateful.  God bless you all!
